Evidence-Informed Practice - 2018

The purpose of this course is to update and reinforce for the fellow-in-training principles of evidence based practice - including use of literature and interpretation of findings.  Furthermore, introduction to the critical appraisal of the literature will be included.The fellowship program will be heavily based in evidence, and thus an understanding of hierarchy of evidence, how to search for evidence, how to critique evidence, and how to implement evidence is a must for foundational knowledge prior to beginning any core course material.

This course expands on Manual Therapy I taking a more specific direction toward clinical reasoning framework and development.  The Maitland concept is utilized to build a foundation that is consistent among all fellows in training.  This course is offered online utilizing discussion boards and live webinar technology.

Instructional Methods - 2018

This course explores the development and facilitation of post professional education. The requirements of the course are met throughout the fellowship program, and course completion components include various aspects of online and onsite instruction. Didactic components of the course include assigned readings and online presentations, and these are completed individually per the fellow’s own timeline – provided that all evaluation requirements are met at the allotted timeframe, which will be noted on the Moodle course page.

This course builds on EBP and further exposes the fellow to foundational research concepts including research methods, data analysis understanding, and results interpretation. This course will also serve as a “take-off” point for the fellows to begin work on the scholarly projects, and submission and defense of a scholarly project proposal – including an initial literature review – will be a requirement for successful course completion.

Research I

This course exposes the fellow in training to foundational research concepts including research methods, data analysis understanding, and results interpretation.  Scientific / technical writing is also be developed in this course with the expectation of writing for publication.

Course Image Fellowship Mentored Clinical Practice

Fellowship Mentored Clinical Practice

440 hours of supervised clinical practice with a fellowship trained PT.  Of these, 130 are spent one to one with your mentor.  These hours are spread throughout the duration of the program.  An emphasis is placed on integration of evidence within a clinical framework.
